She began her career as a graphic designer and art director in South Korea, later studying patisserie at Le Cordon Bleu in Ottawa before shifting her focus to ceramics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kim holds an MA in Fine Art from Chelsea College of Arts in London, where she received the Cecil Lewis Sculpture Scholarship. She also earned an advanced diploma in ceramics from Sheridan College, graduating with high honors and a silver medal. Her ceramic sculptures have been exhibited widely in Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, and Italy. Notable solo exhibitions include \u201cThe Colours\u2019 Colour\u201d at Harbourfront Centre in Toronto, \u201cYou, Me, Us\u201d at Kouri + Corrao Gallery in Santa Fe and \u201cThe Eye of the Beholder\u201d at The Canadian Clay &amp; Glass Gallery in Waterloo. She has participated in international residencies at the Archie Bray Foundation (USA), Shigaraki Ceramic Cultural Park (Japan), and K\u00fcnstlerhaus Stadtt\u00f6pferei (Germany), among others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kim is the recipient of numerous awards and grants, including support from the Canada Council for the Arts and the Ontario Arts Council. In 2020, she won the Winifred Shantz Award for Ceramics, Canada\u2019s leading national prize for emerging ceramic artists.
